Pastor Morris Hicks
"Greatness is not found in possessions, power, position, or prestige. It is discovered in goodness, humility, service, and character."
William Arthur Ward
Morris Hicks has served as Pastor of The Fellowship Christian Center since its formation in 2001 and continues to be a strong pillar of faith for everyone who attends FCC. Pastor began his ministry at Maranatha Baptist Church (Rainsville, AL), where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon for nearly 10 years. At the age of 33 he would answer his call to serve God as a Preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Soon after answering the call to preach he would serve as Pastor of New Life Baptist Church (Shiloh, AL). Morris spent nearly 4 ½ years as the Pastor for New Life before God would ultimately change his life forever. While in prayer Morris began to ask God that if there was more for him, then he wanted it. God gave Morris more that day along with a new vision for the ministry that he was serving God in. As a result Morris would step down as Pastor of New Life in order to begin the ministry of Fellowship Christian Center.
In 2001, Fellowship Christian Center held its first service in the DeKalb Theatre (Fort Payne, AL). The services last for 9 weeks before moving to a sound studio (Rainsville, AL) for another month. From there service would be held in the old Sand Mountain Funeral Home (Rainsville, AL). Morris and the members of FCC called the Funeral Home their church for nearly 2 ½ years. While at the Funeral Home God would bless the congregation with an opportunity to buy land and build a brand new sanctuary on its current location (Rainsville, AL). The first service was held in December of 2004.
From a Pastor’s son (Truman Hicks), to a musician, to a farmer, to a Sunday School Teacher, to a Deacon, to a Pastor…God has used Morris in great measures to influence the lives of many with the Word that he places in Morris’ heart. Morris preaches with passion for his Savior Jesus Christ and with each message he gives, there is always a foundation of love for all spoken in every word.
Morris was born and raised on Sand Mountain, where he currently lives with his wife of over 25 years (Trish) and their two children; Casey and John.. Both Morris and Trish serve as members of the FCC Praise and Worship Team. Pastor plays Guitar, Bass guitar, and sings. Trish plays the piano and also sings.
