In The Center . . . ?

A few nights ago, I was flipping through the TV Channels and came upon a
program about the ten plagues of Egypt.  This drew my attention so I stopped to hear what was being said about it. There was a group of "esteemed scientists" attempting to give a "scientific explanation" of the events meanwhile totally ignoring God's part in any of it.  According to this collection of fine minds there is an explanation for each plague that ultimately leads to nature being the cause for each phenomenon and coincidently, they just all happened in chronological order to orchestrate the deliverance of Jewish slaves from the land of Egypt.  The charade went so far as to have an experiment demonstrating the parting of the Red Sea caused by an earthquake in Europe that triggered a tsunami, which just so happened to hit the Egyptian delta and part the waters at the precise moment the children of Israel arrived there.  This allowed their escape and the after tide engulfed Pharaoh's army.  I have a Hebrew word for their intellectual conclusions and scientific proof-Bologna!

Romans 1:25 (NIV) - "They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and
worshipped and served created things rather than the Creator - who is
forever praised. Amen"

A few mornings later, as I watched the national news, the media reported
and had visual footage confirming the streets in China were full of frogs
just before the earthquake struck.  The scientific community reasoned that
the reptiles had some inner instinct of the coming disaster.  Romans 1:20
(NIV) - "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities -
His eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being
understood from what he has made, so that men are without excuse."
It is popular in today's society to leave God out of everything and exalt
man's ability to problem solve and rationalize any and every situation he
faces.  Christians are portrayed as foolish, narrow-minded, intolerant,
backward, uneducated souls in need of an emotional crutch.  1 Corinthians
1:20, 27 (NIV) - "Where is the wise man?  Where is the philosopher of this
age?  Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?  But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things to shame the strong."

The Bible is full of God's warnings of impending judgment in order to
allow people, who are willing, to receive His grace.  There has always
been a remnant faithful to God and believers of His word.  Matthew 7:13-14
(NASB) - "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way
broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there
are few who find it."

Human nature has changed very little over time.  People still succumb to
the serpent's words, "Did God really say."  Satan's most effective form of
deception is to cause us to doubt God's word.  Numbers 23:19 (NIV) - "God
is not man that he should lie."

Cling to God's word.  It will sustain you, teach you, correct you, rebuke
you, and lead you to righteousness.  Matthew 24:35 (NIV) - "Heaven and
earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."
